So you bought a new house or you are just trying to spruce up the one you have. Everybody has many questions. What size fixture is going to make this room look the best? Where should it go? It is fun to work with proportion and scale to land the look you are trying to achieve. We have all of your led lighting solutions here for you.
Tip #1 How to pick the right size of fixtures for the room.
First, if you would like to achieve a humorous or whimsical look, try large-scale in a small room. There is nothing like a statement piece to start up some great conversations. Our personal favorite is the Bling Large Chandelier. Second, using pendant chandeliers can be intriguing. Their small to small ratio adds just enough glamour to be appealing to all. A great example here would be the Andromeda Pendant. It is dynamic and adds bursts of energy to any room.
Tip #2 How to pick the right fixture to hang over a round dining table vs. a rectangular dining table.
There are no rules here. However, we suggest linear fixtures going with rectangular tables, such as the Delany Chandelier or the Tube LED Linear Chandelier. They make the room so elegant and the proportions are terrific. The ideal length would be around a third of the table’s length. If you are working with a smaller table that is round, a round or globe chandelier is your best bet. Minka-Lavery’s Criterium 6-Light Chandelier raises your décor into a higher state. It features concentric vertical rings that resembles the planets and stars. This design has a few distinct finishes that compliments the entire room.
Tip #3 Finding the perfect height from the ceiling to the dining room table.
As a general rule, the light should be installed 36 inches when measured from the bottom to the top of the table. This is just the standard and provides the best quality of light. If you have elevated ceilings or if you want to engage with a larger space, try 40 inches. George Kovac’s Jewel Box Chandelier can be adjusted to your perfect height.
Tip #4 How to pick out the right bulbs for your dining room
Obviously we always go with LED light bulbs. This is the most economical and efficient route to go when dealing with any lighting in your home. We manufacture our Live Long Filament Bulbs to go in any fixture that you purchase. Whether you have a single lamp of 10,000 they are a great alternative to standard lighting. They provide better quality and have a better warranty compared to other LED brands. They are safe, durable and efficient in any environment. We prefer all decorative fixtures to be on dimmers. For example, if you are having dinner with the family you will want the room to be brighter. But when you have some friends over and drinking wine it is important to have an inviting atmosphere. Warm light is the most flattering in a room.
Tip #5 If you don’t want the fixture to be center how to make it still flow with the room.
Not everybody likes a center approach to their lighting fixtures. That is perfectly fine. However, if you want to do an abstract look we suggest using a more dynamic piece. We suggest the Sputnik Chandelier. It is a modern, futuristic and retro piece that has numerous medal spokes shooting out from the center. The crystal accents are what will really make your room sparkle.
